Payroll and HR Technician

What you'll do with us:

Payroll

  • Ensure the entry and approval of timesheets
  • Process regular pay for employees including variable compensation (commissions, bonuses, packages, per diems, reimbursement of expense accounts, etc.)
  • Balance and submission of the payroll data to Nethris (Canada) and ADP (US) as well as ensuring its accuracy
  • Apply provincial, federal and American government regulations applicable to payroll
  • Produce records of employment and various reports required by government agencies during payroll processing and at the end of the year
  • Prepare and analyze journal entries
  • Respond to employee questions related to payroll

Human resources

  • Manage the staffing, integration, internal movement and employee departure process
  • Format and post job offers
  • Generate selection and application tracking tools for hiring managers
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director, develop and maintain HR policies
  • Be the resource person regarding applicable labor laws and standards
  • Be the resource person for group insurance and the company's VRSP
  • Ensure the updating of employee files
  • Participate in the implementation of HR and payroll management tools


What you'll bring:

  • College or university diploma in human resources, administration or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience in payroll and human resources administration
  • Excellent level of French and English, both written and spoken
  • Good knowledge of labor laws (provincial and federal laws and regulations)
  • Good knowledge of the Google suite (GoogleSheet, GoogleDoc, Gmail) and Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Experience with Nethris, ADP or another similar pay system
  • Good team spirit
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines

Nice to have:

  • Canadian Payroll Association certificate
  • Knowledge of US labor laws and regulations
  • Experience with Bamboo HR
  • HRIS implementation experience
  • Experience in US payroll management
