More than 16,000 esports fans packed into San Francisco's sold-out Chase Center to witness firsthand the League of Legends Worlds 2022 Finals. This thrilling best-of-five matchup saw South Korean powerhouse T1, the most decorated team in League history with three world championships already under their belts, match up as heavy favourites against Cinderella qualifiers DRX, who knocked out last year's world champions Edward Gaming to get to the finals.
Often referred to as the “Superbowl of Esports,” performances by artists Lil Nas X, Jackson Wang, Louis Leibfried, and Edda Hayes during the opening ceremonies had the masses of League fans whipping the stadium into a frenzy. PixMob was proud to unveil our new Radio Frequency-controlled Waveband wristbands among the attendees which helped showcase our easy-to-operate range of unified, grouped or randomized visual effects to over 5.1 million concurrent viewers watching along around the world on platforms like Twitch and YouTube.
The Waveband's were put to the test, lighting up fans thanks to our pre-programmed automatic effects that saw the bands light up on first blood, taking a Baron é dragon, and in team colours whenever T1 or DRX won a round throughout the championships. Fans the world over were treated to a stunning 3-2 upset victory by DRX, and PixMob made sure the Chase Center was shining bright and flashing the team's signature white and blue colours while the upstart underdogs hoisted the Summoner's Cup.
